The Falanghina del Sannio Taburno from Fontanavecchia is a brilliant representative of white wines from Campania. This wine is made from 100% Falanghina grapes, an autochthonous grape variety of Campania known for its ability to produce fresh and aromatic wines with good structure. The vines are grown using the Guyot system to ensure uniform ripening of the grapes and to maximize their aromatic intensity. The Sannio wine-growing zone, in particular the Taburno sub-region, offers ideal conditions for growing Falanghina. The Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters as well as the limestone and clay soils contribute to the unique characteristics of this wine. The vineyards are located at an altitude of around 350 meters above sea level, which contributes to the freshness and complexity of the wines. It is bright straw yellow with delicate green reflections. The bouquet unfolds aromas of stone fruits, fresh grass, white flowers and a hint of citrus. On the palate, the wine shows a balanced freshness, supported by lively acidity and subtle minerality, which results in a harmonious and persistent finish. There is excellent mid-palate weight along with a suave mouth-feel. This would be an excellent white for the Thanksgiving feast capable of handling the roast turkey and the stuffing.
