Typically, wines based in the Aglianico grape will be powerful, savory, low-toned, and deeply tannic. These features are commonplace in iterations from the volcano Vulture in Basilicata or Taurasi, further inland in Campania. San Francesco's offers a suggestion of those elements, but by blending in native Campania varieties Tintore and Piedirosso with the Aglianico, the team is able to achieve more freshness and lift. Notes of bright red fruits and violets to go with the baritone expressions of tobacco and spice.

Serve with Neapolitan pizza, pasta alla sorrentina, slow roasted meats, or charcuterie.
