Emblematic of the Piedmont peasant culture, the early ripening Dolcetto has always been produced by the people of the countryside in their farmhouses. A humble wine that requires few resources, but which can satisfy all palates. In the region of Dogliani, however, this grape finds an expression well above its humble roots, and this wine is a beautiful example of the elegance that can be achieved. Maybe it is something about the calcareous soils or the microclimate of the Dogliani region or a combination of the two, but what is certain is that this is where the finest Dolcetto wines are produced in the Piedmont and probably in the world. Red-purple in color with violet nuances, this wine exudes aromas of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries and red cherries with mineral notes. On the palate the wine is medium bodied, with soft tannins, moderate acidity and a good balance. We recommend pairing it with a nice platter of salami and mixed cheeses; it’s also a great choice for pasta or pizza on any night of the week.
