Winemaker Pauline Lapierre Dietrich has a wine family pedigree. Her mother Isabelle hails from Champagne, while her father Michel was educated in oenology at the University of Bordeaux. Michel, moved the family to Clare Valley Australia where he cut his teeth in winemaking. After six years the family moved to Bordeuax where they became the owners of the Château Haut-Rian: a beautiful estate with75 hectare of vineyard at the heart of Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux. Though most people associate Bordeaux with red wine, Bordeaux Blanc is easily one of the best values available. Coming from 35 year old vines, Chateau Haut-Rian vinifies their Bordeaux Blanc in stainless steel, with lees aging for four months. They currently farm organically and the entire estate will be certified in 2025. With refreshing aromas of white flowers, lemon peel, and honeydew, pair this with French classics like French Onion Soup, Gratin Dauphinoise, or Truffled Bresse Chicken.
